Vaseline gauze, First Aid burn gauze is a soft and not medicated, making it ideal for use with topical antibiotics or antiseptics. It is soothing and low -adherent, and allows the wound to drain freely into an absorbent secondary dressing. It is available in a wide range of sizes, the largest of which is suitable for use in burns units.

It is applied directly to the surface of the wound and covered with an absorbent pad held in place with tape or a bandage, as appropriate. Frequency of Change: The frequency of dressing changes will depend entirely upon the nature of the wound. If Atrauman is left in position for prolonged periods of time, it can become adherent and cause tissue damage upon removal.
